A little bit of chit-chat
Quicksilver is prepping up for its mainnet launch. In preparation, the protocol is undergoing an auditing process by Orijtech and Halborn security, which will be made public before the mainnet launch. The audits will focus on evaluating Quicksilver’s robustness to ensure a high level of security for its users.
Sommelier launched its first cellar, operating on the Aave protocol to earn yields for stablecoin holders. The cellar went live on July 21st, and it already has $279,000 in liquidity as of writing, 90% of it being from depositors.
You are not alone if you saw some weird tokens you didn’t buy on your Osmosis account. Community members reported that some Osmosis accounts were being targeted by a random spammer sending certain tokens to them. Some propositions are already under work to increase the minimum gas fee to avoid this behaviour.
Shared security, beyond Cosmos ☄️
During the Nebular Summit held in Paris, Federico Kunze Kullmer unveiled a new feature to attract more EVM-compatible dApps to Evmos and, thus, to the greater Cosmos ecosystem.
Evmos wants to become an infrastructure hub for EVM chains in Cosmos. An EVM-specific dApp can deploy to Evmos first to access all the interoperability benefits. Once it has grown enough, it can spin out into its own sovereign chain, while preserving its state and using the Evmos infrastructure as oracles, indexers, etc.
This new concept will also make Evmos an “Interchain Security Provider”, meaning that these new sovereign chains will also be able to rent security from the Evmos validator set.
A new Launchpad is coming ⭐
As we talked to Shane Vitarana in a recent interview, Stargaze is getting ready to deploy a new Launchpad with several updates. This past week, these new updates were published and detailed in a community post to gather user feedback. The new things coming to the Launchpad are:
New Architecture: thanks to the deployment of generic contract interfaces, community members can build new features on top. This opens the door to developers who want to deploy features via governance proposals, and new types of NFT collections such as non-transferrable NFTs, SVG NFTs, and NFTs with DeFi mechanics built-in.
Parameter and fee governance: after parameters are built on the governance module, community members can change them via a governance proposal.
Project verification: to ensure the high quality of the collections displayed on Stargaze, the community can vote via governance to give a verified status to a specific collection.
Updated Fair Burn: once this new Launchpad is live, 50% of the transaction fees will be distributed among stakers, eliminating the current mechanism that sends such tokens to the community pool.
Also, there will be implemented new fee structures to avoid spam. For instance, a new collection will cost 5,000 STARS (base fee) and 5,000 STARS per 1,000 items instead of the current 1,000 STARS flat fee. Meanwhile, airdrops will cost 10 STARS per NFT.
Stop spammers 🛑
The Juno community introduced a governance proposal that aims to reduce the spam from the governance activity after the behaviour of some community members that spammed a handful of Cosmos chains governance modules.
The measure will increase the deposit for proposals from 500 JUNO (~$1,500) to 1000 JUNO (~$3,000). There was an impressive turnout of more than 77% of the votes cast, and 99.44% of token holders agreed with the measure.
Although there have been some conversations about adopting the same measures for other chains, including the Hub, this is the first to become enacted.
Airdrops List 💧
No relevant airdrops this week. However, you can check GNOLand eligibility for their future airdrop here.
