A little bit of chit-chat
A video by CryptoDanny illustrated various inflation scenarios for ATOM over the next five years. For example, if the inflation rate is set at 20%, the ATOM supply will more than double by 2028. However, with an inflation rate of 7%, which is half of the current rate, the supply will only grow by 28%. This video sparked a conversation among community members about the existential threat posed by current tokenomics to ATOM and the need to adjust it.
Transparency
The Transparency Report for Month 3 has been published by The Atom Accelerator DAO (AADAO). A total of $682,056 has been awarded to 10 grant recipients, covering diverse categories that showcase AADAO's multifaceted support for various aspects of the Cosmos ecosystem.
The DAO is in the process of finalizing selections for a Request for Proposal focused on tokenomics and governance improvement, with three finalists already selected. This initiative aims to attract innovative solutions and foster collaboration among stakeholders to enhance the efficiency of the Cosmos ecosystem.
Furthermore, the DAO has partnered with Neutron and Long Hash to launch the AEZ Accelerator & Builders' Fellowship, a 12-week program that aims to provide knowledge, network, and funding to 30 selected projects, empowering entrepreneurs.
Finally, the DAO has demonstrated its commitment to diversifying its portfolio and securing funds for operational expenses and grant commitments by purchasing $800,000 worth of ATOM from its treasury for axlUSDC.
Extensions
Evmos Apeiron v13 has introduced EVM Extensions, a feature that integrates the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) with the Cosmos ecosystem, enabling improved interoperability and composability. The EVM Extensions leverage the scalability and sovereignty of the Cosmos network, providing smart contracts with enhanced capabilities and reshaping the decentralized finance (DeFi) landscape.
The EVM Extensions allow smart contracts to seamlessly interact across various Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) chains within the Cosmos ecosystem. This integration fosters liquidity exploration, collaboration, and growth within the Evmos ecosystem. Smart contracts can now access core protocol functionalities like staking, voting, and IBC communication, bridging the gap between different chains and expanding their capabilities.
One notable implementation of EVM Extensions is the concept of "Outposts," acting as intermediaries for other chains. Outposts enable users and smart contracts to interact with services on different chains, such as decentralized exchanges and staking platforms. The IBC middleware processes data packets, directing them to the relevant smart contracts or sections within the EVM. This streamlined approach enhances efficiency, enabling complex transactions to be executed in a single operation, thereby improving the user experience.
